A message from the Chairman, John Hancock
One of the fundamental objectives of the Society is to engage musicians of the highest quality for our concerts, which is reflected in our forthcoming programme. Those of you who have studied the annual accounts will have noticed that income from members subscriptions and donations does not cover the artists costs, which currently have to be subsidised through the generosity of sponsors and advertisers. It is vital to the financial future of the Society that we increase the number of members, and I therefore urge you to renew your subscription and at the same time ask you to promote the benefits of membership to friends and neighbours.
It is appropriate to record here the Societys thanks to Tony Saunders and Carol Jackson for their many years of service as Chairman and Concert Manager respectively. We are pleased that Sally Dymott has agreed to take on the duties of Concert Manager.
Enjoy the wonderful music on offer during our 50th year!
John Hancock
